Easy to Install But Do Read the Instructions
Britax go to great trouble to make sure you have all the information you need in order to install this car seat. Not only are there very detailed instructions but they also provide a video that shows you all you need to know. Is this the easiest car seat to install? No it is not but armed with all the instructions you should have no difficulty fitting it in 5 minutes. Let’s face it, if you want to have the safest car seat available, you can’t expect to be able to place it on the seat, fix a buckle and that’s it. Rest assured, when you have fitted this seat properly it will be the safest place to be in the whole car.
Compares Well Against Other Seats
The biggest competitor to this seat is the Graco Nautilus. There are many things that make the Britax stand out compared to the Graco seat. For example the crotch strap slots on the Britax are up to 8 1/2 inches from the back of the seat compared to only 6 1/2 for the Graco. That is a massive difference and means your child will fit easily in the seat for much longer.
The back of the Britax Frontier 85 is also much straighter. The headrest on the Graco seems to push the head forward and that means the whole of the spine has to curve forward. The material of the Britax is also very nice to touch.
There is another limitation to the Graco Nautilus and that is that the harness strap is basically too short. The harness on the Britax Frontier 85 is much longer.
Britax have gone out of their way to produce a combination booster car seat that will last your child for many years. I’ve even heard of small adults fitting into the seat quite easily. So it can be seen that this seat is the one to get from 2 years upwards.
